Board of Directors – May 27th 2026

None, May 27 – During the Board of Directors meeting held on Wednesday, May 27, Chief Executive Officer Giacomo Biviano stepped down from his executive responsibilities; he will remain a member of the Board and will continue to oversee the development of initiatives related to Domori Professional products.

The role of Chief Executive Officer was immediately assigned to Riccardo Illy, Chairman of Polo del Gusto. At the same time, Alberto Franzone was appointed Chief Transformation Officer, with responsibilities covering Finance, Human Resources, IT and Supply Chain.

RICCARDO ILLY
Riccardo Illy is Chairman of Polo del Gusto.

Born in Trieste in 1955, he joined the family company in 1977, initially focusing on sales and marketing activities. In the second half of the 1980s, he became Commercial Director. In 1992, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer and, from 1995 to 2016, served as Vice Chairman.

He served as Chairman of the family holding company from its establishment in 2004 until 2019, when he became Chairman of Polo del Gusto, today an independent holding company.

Starting in the 1990s, Riccardo Illy pursued a political career, serving as Mayor of Trieste from 1993 to 2001. In 2001, he was elected Member of the Italian Parliament and, from 2003 to 2008, served as President of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, as well as President of the Assembly of European Regions.

Riccardo Illy is a professional journalist and author of several books. His most recent publication is “L’arte dei prodotti eccellenti” (The Art of Excellent Products), published by La nave di Teseo in 2022, previously released by HarperCollins Leadership under the English title “The Art of Excellent Products”.

In 2000, he received an Honorary Degree in Political Science from the University of Trieste.

In 2009, the President of the Italian Republic awarded him the title of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.

From 2020 to 2025, he served as Honorary Consul of the French Republic in Trieste.

ALBERTO FRANZONE

Alberto Franzone has over 40 years of professional experience in industrial groups, investment banks and companies operating in the field of corporate turnaround and transformation.
Since October 2025, he has been Non-Executive Chairman of Tapì Group, a multinational company operating in the spirits closure sector.

From 2009 to 2024, he was Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal, Co-Head of the Italian practice and member of the European Executive Committee. Alvarez & Marsal (“A&M”) is a global leader in corporate turnaround, business transformation and performance improvement.

In this role, Franzone served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Restructuring Officer for industrial companies, consumer goods companies, service providers and general contracting businesses.

Between 1988 and 2004, Franzone worked in investment banking, first as Italy Country Head and CEO of Investment Banking at UBS, and subsequently as Head of Investment Banking in Italy and member of Calyon S.A.’s Global Investment Banking Committee.

In March 2015, he was appointed by the Italian Ministry of Justice as a member of the Rordorf Commission, established to develop proposals for the reform and reorganisation of insolvency proceedings legislation.

He has held non-executive director positions in several Italian companies, including Burgo, La Patria, Varvel, Comital Cuki and Citieffe.
