Valfieri

Winery founded in Alba in 1961. Today Valfieri is a pop interpretation of the great Piedmontese vines.

In 1961, Rosangela Clerici Riccadonna (belonging to one of the oldest Piedmontese families of wine production), founded the VALFIERI winery in Alba.

Later, the headquarters of Valfieri was moved to Costigliole d'Asti, in the heart of one of the most valuable wine areas of the region and took over the management of the sons Angelo and Maria Chiara.

In 2020, Valfieri joined the Mura Mura family, through the acquisition of the brand by Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti. This operation also allowed to acquire the license to vinify the cru of Barbaresco and Barolo in Costigliole.

Valfieri wants to be for Mura Mura a more pop interpretation of Piedmontese wines. By keeping the cornerstones of the search for excellence and absolute quality, inherent in the DNA of Mura Mura, some processes that lead to the production of Valfieri wines have been simplified.

Later in 2022 the first two wines were born:

  • L'Antidoto, rose wine.
  • La Finestrina, Barbera d'Asti DOCG

Both are inspired by the plays of Vittorio Alfieri, a famous Asti character of the '700.
